  • Introduced by Rep. Gretchen Whitmer on February 23, 2005, the executive recommendation for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2005-2006 Department of Agriculture budget. This appropriates $102.7 million in adjusted gross spending (funded from all sources, including special state restricted fund and federal pass-through dollars, minus interdepartmental transfers), compared to $126.1 million, which was the FY 2004-2005 amount enrolled in 2004. Of this, $28.5 million will come from the general fund (funded by actual state tax revenues), compared to the FY 2004-2005 amount of $30.0 million. Another $41.4 million is from “restricted funds,” or earmarked tax and fee revenue. Note: Much of the decline in the gross amount of this budget compared to the previous year is due to the transfer of the state fair from this department to the Department of Management and Budget. • Referred to the House Appropriations Committee on February 23, 2005.
